World Cup Soccer 2006 on the C64
Every platform has its world cup soccer games. And, altho many people will think otherwise, this is still so for the Commodore 64 - even for this years World Cup, organized in Germany. OK as you would have guessed this game is not originally coded this year but its a hack of an older Microprose Soccer version adapted to show the cities and teams from this years’ World Cup. Microprose Soccer is still one of the best footy games around for me, I’m not a fan of the genre at all by the way, so this little hack might just be enjoyable. For the mother of all C64 soccer games, check out International Soccer dating back to 1983 and one of the first games I’ve played on my C64 back in the days. It’s so simple its got a huge amount of playability so there’s no reason not to give it a go.
